Waaaaaaaay Back Wednesday!

I've been working on a project for our 50th Wilson Family Reunion coming up in July 2010 and I've spent the past couple days scanning in old pictures.

Here is my great-grandparents, Mark and Ella Wilson.

They were married on Aug. 20, 1916, in Erath County. Mark was 21 and Ella was 16. Ella's dad had to go to the Erath County Courthouse with Mark and Ella to get their marriage license because Ella was so young.

Mark was born April 16, 1895 in Coleville, Texas to Cyrus Matterson and Mary Margaret Paul Wilson. Mark was paralized and in a wheelchair for 14 years because of a stroke. He died on May 11, 1947 and is buried in Gordon, Texas.

Ella was born on July 1, 1899, in Erath County to Henderson and Julia Hambrick Sewell. Ella died on Feb. 23, 1961, and is buried with Mark in Gordon.

Mark and Ella had 11 children, Vera Inez, Viola Vivian, Elsie Oneta, Cora Frances, Glen Marcus, Verna Jean, Ella Mae, Clyde Rhea, Robert Reed, Patsy Jo and Roy Wayne. Here is a picture of Ella with 9 of the kids - Patsy and Roy were not born yet.

This is my Nanny Mae as a young woman.

Nanny Mae had two daughters, Vickie Lynn and Sharron Ella.

She had three grandchildren, Anna Mae, Dustin Ray and Thomas James.

Some pics of TJ...

Oh, and I forgot these, my Aunt Sharron and Mom's graduation pictures. Aren't they beautiful girls?

And one last pic of Mom and Aunt Sharron, just because I think it's so darn cute!
