Belew Family of Five: Way Back Wednesday!

(No, I am not confused. Yes, I realize it's Thursday. Go with it, people.)

Man, it's hard to believe I've almost Way Back Wednesday'd (yes, I just made that a verb) a whole year of Cade's life. This week I'll be blogging his first birthday! Hard to believe his 2nd birthday is just around the corner. Man, where does the time go? Funny looking back at last year's birthday pictures and to think about how much he's changed and grown in just a year's time. He is talking soooooo much more now than he was then, and has gotten so much taller! He's turning in to this little person who understands things and knows what he wants. Oh man, does he know what he wants! He definitely has ideas about how and when he should do things, and Lord help the person who tries to get in his way! I'm learning quickly just what the terrible two's are about, and Cade is learning just what time-outs and swats on the hiney are all about!

Before we get to first birthday pics, here's a couple pics of him when he first got his new 4-wheeler last Thanksgiving. We had Christmas with my Dad on Thanksgiving last year because they were going to Canada for Christmas. They got Cade this 4-wheeler and it was an instant hit. Mickey showed him once how to push the button to make it go and he was off! Only downside, though, is that he didn't (and still doesn't) know how to steer. He just drives straight until he runs into something and waits for somebody to come and turn him around. I've tried to show him how to steer, but he just won't do it yet.

On the night of Cade's birthday we had Jodi and Ryan over for supper and had cupcakes and presents. Cade was kind of mad in this picture because he wanted to grab the candle and Daddy wouldn't let him.

I'm going to post a bunch of pics of him getting messy with the cupcake, because he didn't get too messy at his birthday party with the little cake he had. And really, he didn't get that messy with the cupcake, either.

I really I have no idea what Ryan is doing in this picture. All I know is it's going to be great to show his girlfriend someday!! Looks like Jodi was tuckered out in the background. Too much partying, I guess!

We had Cade's party the Saturday after his birthday in the Fellowship Hall at our church. We had a great turnout of family and friends and the kid seriously made a haul on toys and clothes. Most of the pictures from Cade's party ended up on my mom's camera so I don't have them on my computer, but I'll share some of the ones I do have.
