I have soooooo many pictures from Port Aransas that I want to blog, I'm going to have to do two posts to get it all in. And actually, I won't be blogging anywhere near all the pictures I took. You're welcome.
We had a great time and spent lots of time at the beach swimming, building sand castles and catching sharks. What? You don't believe me? Keep reading. Like I've said before, the proof is in the pictures.
We did end our trip with a nasty little stomach bug that spread through our family like wild fire. All of us ended up spending a full 24 hours or more sick (I'll spare you the details), with the exception of Cade, Ronnie, Mel and Carley. Those lucky dogs.
Okay, okay, on to pictures. It was a long 6-hour drive on the way down. Jodi rode with Memaw and Papa and slept the entire way. She's no fool. Who wants to be crammed in the backseat with two brothers, a car seat and an Elmo DVD blaring the entire way? However, we did get a bit of rest while the boys caught a few Zzzzzzz's.

Allow me to back up just for a second. My mom bought Cade this wagon before we went to Port A last year, however, he was a wee bit too small to make much use of it then. But now, Cade loooooves "Waggie" and Waggie was very handy when making trips back and forth from the camper to the house getting loaded up. This picture cracks me up. Where's Cade?

When we got to Port A Cade was mesmerized by the ferry and was so excited to get to ride on the "boat."

After we got to the campsite, Mickey and I were of course running around trying to get things set up. Ryan took over full babysitting mode and kept Cade occupied in the back of the camper. It's hard to tell from this picture, but it was probably about a bajillion degrees in our camper. But no complaints from Bubby, he happily kept Cade entertained.

On to the beach... We brought our trusty golf carts to Port A again this year to get us to and from the beach. And again, Waggie came in very handy since we were able to load up all our crap very important items into Waggie and pull him behind the golf cart like a trailer.Yeeees, we used the wagon as a trailer. That's what classy people do.
Here's the crew (well, part of the crew) and the golf carts. You can kind of see Waggie back there behind Ronnie.

My sweet baby enjoying the beach. He was a huge fan of the beach... but not quite as fond of the ocean. Those big waves tend to scare a little fella.

Cade and Carley. And nooooo, that's not a real tattoo.

Cade and Carey -- Cade looooved playing with "Ca-wey" this week. He knew the twins were two different people and can say "Ca-wey" and "Cah-wey", but most of the time called both of them "Ca-wey."

The kids have this net that they walked out into the ocean with about knee-to-waist deep and then walk it back along the ocean floor and catch all kinds of little fish and crabs and things. Some of the fish they would catch Mickey and Ronnie used for bait.

Checking out what they caught.

Wow. Those are some big fish! Ryan and Carey

The seagulls really enjoyed the little fish.

And so did the SHARKS!!!! Yes, Ronnie caught this shark by using one of those little fish for bait. He and Mickey were wading out to the second sandbar and fishing out in the ocean.

Shark teeth!

The kids were amazed/shocked/stunned/excited/mesmerized by the shark!

Mickey used a throw net to catch bait also. Jodi also learned to throw the net.

They caught a little fish... don't ask me what kind, and cut it up for bait. Then Mickey caught this catfish.

And here's some more just random beach pictures...
Ronnie The Great Shark Catcher headed out into the ocean with his trusty sidekicks Jodi and Cody.

What in the world are they doing out there?

Jodi and Cody... both looking a little "Huh?"

Cade didn't let them get too far on a sand castle before he tore it down. Good thing the "big kids" let the "little kid" pretty much do as he pleases!

Stay tuned... Up next... pictures from the Texas State Aquarium and FunTrackers Go-Karts in Corpus Christi!
