Port Aransas - Take Two

We took the kids to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus this year which they all thoroughly enjoyed. Cade especially loved it this year since last year he was too small to really care much about it. He LOVES "shishies" (fish) and loves even more to feed Ryan's fish in his room at home.

Memaw and Papa lucked out and got a golf cart ride from the parking lot.

The first big aquarium we got to look at was a good level for Cade to sit and see from his stroller. This fish in the bottom left of the picture sat and stared at Cade for the longest time. They had their own little staring contest!

Heeeeeey! Those two little fish look just like Ryan and Cade!

Cody, Cade and Ryan checking out the hermit crabs.

Ryan, Cade and Mickey checking out some "shishies."

Mickey and his Mama.

Ronnie and Mel.

More shishies.

And yes, I was actually on this trip! It's just hard to tell sometimes because the proof is rarelyin the pictures :) since I'm usually behind the camera!

Cody, Carey, Ryan, Carley, Cade and Jodi

Cade and "Cokey" (Cody) checking out a "Cock-a-do" (bird). Ever since Cade has learned that the rooster says "Cock-a-doodle-do" he points at birds and says "Cock-a-do".

Another cool thing the kids enjoy at the Aquarium is the pond where they get to pet the stingrays. There are a bunch of them in the pond, but you have to wait for one to swim by to get to pet it's back. Here's Ryan and Carey waiting for one to come by.

And Ryan finally gets one!

We also took the kiddos to a little place in Corpus Christi called FunTrackers. They love the go-karts and and after much begging and pleading, we let Ryan (9) and Carey and Carley (11) drive the 13 and up go-karts. They thought they were hot stuff! The fun thing about going to this place is that we are usually the only ones there (I guess since it's the middle of the week), with the exception of maybe one or two other families. So there's no waiting in line and there's not a ton of people on the tracks.

After we left FunTrackers was when things started going downhill with that nasty stomach bug I mentioned before. But all in all we had a great vacation and look forward to going back!

Here's one last picture of the kiddos in the shark's mouth in front of one of the souvenir shops. At this point in the trip, Jodi was already feeling better, but poor little Ryan was having a hard time holding his lunch!
