SNOW!

For the first time in decades, we got a White Christmas right here in Central Texas! The weather people were predicting a "light dusting" of snow, up to 3" of accumulation, but boy were they wrong!! We ended up getting more like 6-8" of snow with lots of nasty, icy roads. Cade and I went to Garner for Christmas lunch and presents with the Ellis family, not expecting the roads to get bad since it was 70 degrees the day before. WRONG! We left Garner and it took us 2 hours to make the 20-minute drive to Mineral Wells so we decided to stay put and spend Christmas Eve at Nanny Mae's house. Mom, Richard and Nanny Mae were not far behind us, and we ended up having a really fun Christmas Eve/Morning. Only downside was we didn't get to see Mickey until after lunch on Christmas Day. Since Nanny Mae lives only a few blocks from Wal-Mart, Mom and I eased on over to get some pajamas, food and toys. And guess what?!?! Santa found Cade at Nan's house on Christmas morning!! Lots of pictures from Christmas to blog, but first here's some pictures of the snow. These pictures were actually taken early in the afternoon Christmas Eve, so there was lots more accumulation by Christmas morning. Just didn't get any pics of the now Christmas Day.
